100% plastic-free, gentle and effective, our zero-waste shampoo and conditioner bars will cleanse, nourish and hydrate the hair quickly and easily, without bottles to recycle, stripping lathers and nasty chemicals. Best of all, they’re incredibly easy for the whole family to use, and they last up to a whopping three times longer than your average bottles of shampoo and conditioner – so they’re not only kind to the environment, they’re kind to your bank balance too! We’ve done the maths and worked it all out.

In a standard 200 ml bottle of shampoo and/or conditioner, you’re likely to get around 30 uses – so in a family of four, on average a bottle of shampoo will last you around seven washes per person. This means that you could easily get through a bottle of shampoo a week, costing you around 16p per use. Alternatively, our solid shampoo and conditioner bars can last for up 90 uses, possibly even more, costing you around 10p per use. Plus, there’s no worry about plastic to recycle and product waste, as our fully sustainable, ethical and eco-friendly bars are 100% zero waste, packaged in fully recyclable cardboard sleeves.

So, let us talk you through the products. They're super popular and anyone who is a regular knows that we often run out of stock. So we’re confident in telling you that the products are fantastic to use and very effective; in fact, our hair has never looked better.

First up, the solid shampoo bar. It’s handmade and vegan, packed with a blend of nourishing oils and gentle surfactants, to cleanse your hair without stripping it of its precious natural oils. Post-shampooing, your hair will feel silky and soft and beautifully cleansed, free from product build-up and gorgeously shiny. The kind formula is gentle enough to use on the whole family, and please don’t be put off by the term ‘surfactants’ – you’ll find no Sodium Lauryl Sulphates here! In our formula, we have used an EcoCert-certified ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulphoacetate, derived from coconut oil, along with two coconut-derived surfactants, which come together to make a safe, skin-friendly cleanser that can create a rich lather without the irritation potential of traditional big-brand formulas. It’s sulphate- and paraben-free too. To ensure that the hair is hydrated, we’ve used a vegan-friendly protein to strengthen the strands, along with a powerhouse blend of coconut and argan oils to intensively moisturise – and for the finishing touch, the luxe scent of bergamot and berry. Our specifically-created formula maintains a PH level that’s effective for haircare, cleansing without drying out, damaging or tangling the hair.

If you’ve never tried a solid shampoo before, you’ll be pleased to hear that it’s very simple. It might take a little getting used to, but we’re confident that you’ll love the results. Simply wet your hair as normal, and then moisten the bar too – rub or slide the bar around your hair, work it into the hair and rinse thoroughly, repeating if necessary. It might take some time to gauge how much product you’ll need, depending on your hair thickness and length, but just go with your instincts!

Post-shampoo, you’ll need to follow up with our solid conditioner bar, so what better time to introduce you to it? Re-conditioning the hair after shampooing is an essential part of the washing process, and it’s also essential to use a product that will really pack hydration back into the strands, without weighing them down. The KOHA Beauty handmade, vegan conditioner bars are crammed with a powerhouse blend of oils and butters that will intensively nourish the hair, without leaving it feeling heavy or lank.

Along with cocoa butter, we’ve used a 100% plant-derived protein that’s vegan-friendly, to impart hair-repairing properties that can improve the overall condition of your hair. And again, we’ve scented the conditioner with bergamot and berry fragrance oils, to give you hair a freshly-washed and fruity scent.

Just like our shampoo, our conditioner bar is also sulphate- and paraben-free. For total transparency, we have included a preservative in the conditioner, to prevent mould or bacteria growth, but we have sourced a paraben-free, non-formaldehyde releasing preservative called phenoxyethanol, which might sound scary but is absolutely safe and gentle to use under EU legislation. We want to ensure that you get the maximum benefit from your conditioner bar, and as it will be used in a warm, moist environment, a preservative is necessary to ensure that the bar continues to be safe to use. After shampooing and rinsing your hair, moisten the conditioner bar and slide it down your hair strands, working it into the lengths and leaving it for a minute or two to work its magic. Then rinse thoroughly, for squeaky-clean and super-shiny hair you won’t be able to resist swishing around!
